Endometriosis is a painful, chronic disease that affects nearly 5 1/2 million women and girls, and millions more worldwide. It occurs when tissue like that which lines the uterus (tissue called the endometrium) is found outside the uterus — usually in the abdomen on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and ligaments that support the uterus; the area between the vagina and rectum; the outer surface of the uterus; and the lining of the pelvic cavity.
Lupron is a medication often given after birth control can not control your Endometriosis. This is a much harder method for you to endure. With that being said, it is not as hard as everyone may make you feel. This medication acts as an artificial menopause. It completely shuts down your hormone flow in order to stop the growth of the disease.
When I was 19 years old I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. It started with problems in my kidneys. I had know idea that the link between my kidneys was related. Unknown to me, I had Endo in and around my colon areas so bad that it blocked my bowel movements and poisoned my kidneys. I then went to my local OB physician for the very first time and there he gave his opinion of what I had but informed me the only way we would actually know is with a laparoscopy surgery.
Researcher’s at the Endometriosis Association recently revealed a link between dioxin exposure and the growth of endometriosis. It’s a startling discovery showing that toxic chemicals (not just dioxin) can lead to the development of endometriosis, and potentially even cancer or other health problems.
Basically, the researchers discovered a group of monkeys developed endometriosis after being exposed to dioxin. Seventy-Nine percent of the monkeys that were exposed got endometriosis and, in addition, the greater the exposure to dioxin the more severe the endometriosis became.
